Network Support Engineer Position Description: Design and support IP Infrastructure, standards, databases. Includes 24x7 support Project Description: Responsible for completing moderately complex analytical tasks and activities associated with IP management and telecommunications function. Job role and skill set: Network Specialist – Cisco Networks Required Skills: High level working knowledge of DNS/DHCP and WINS • Knowledge of external DNS • Intermediate working knowledge of Network Switches and Routers • Advanced knowledge of Cisco and Extreme Networks equipment • Working knowledge of Lucent’s Vital QIP products • Working knowledge of Network Management tools (SMARTS, Cisco works and Concord) • Working knowledge of Cisco’s and Avaya’s IP Telephony products • PC literate (i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Project Workbench) • Advanced knowledge of IP protocol, telecommunication technology, systems/process • Must be capable of quickly learning and using network support software tools • Working knowledge of Unix system commands
