Need candidates who possess all the skills and experience stated in this request and have worked on an IBM contracts previously Must be LOCAL to this client's location. Project Details: Client is requesting IBM to provide a qualified resource to support the eCommerce application environment developed in-house with their current middleware, BEA Weblogic Application Server, running under Windows 2003 Server. Client has very small IT shop and requires resource to possess experience with full life cycle of their e-Commerce website since while they look to backfill the only JAVA resource that recently resigned. Client made this request to IBM first since plans include migration from BEA to Websphere since implementing Lawson's ERP package that includes Websphere. Client would like resource to assist with the planning and migration as well. Resource must possess excellent written and communication skills, well organized that can work collaboratively with clients' IT staff and end users to fulfill requirements of this position. Resource must demonstrate knowledge of change management practices that minimizes risk and impact to web production environment by developing and reviewing plans that coincide with client's style and culture. Responsibilities include full life web application design, development, testing and implementation along with technical support which is minimal. The current JAVA implementation has been described as "plain vanilla" since care has been taken to stay away from any of BEA's proprietary functions. The eCommerce environment includes the use of EJBs and client recently implemented a JBOS rules engine. The assignment would be at least 3 months with strong possibility on an extension if candidate is a fit. Client is located in Washington, DC area and would prefer a Local resource, if possible. Comments / Other Skills: Must have experience with BEA Weblogic and can support migration from BEA to Websphere.
